5th Foundation Day of HS School Principals’ Forum observed at Nagaon

NAGAON, Oct 15: With a day-long programme, the 5th Foundation Day of Assam HS School Principals’ Forum was observed here at Nagaon Dawson HS and Multi-Purpose School premises on Friday last.
On the occasion, a state-level seminar on the topic ‘National Education Policy 2020 and its application in higher secondary level’ was held. The programme was organised by the district unit of the forum under the leadership of Tapan Kumar Daidya, principal of Dawson HS and Multi-Purpose School, Nagaon as well as the president of the district unit of the forum.
Mridul Kumar Nath, the inspector of schools, Nagaon sub-division, inaugurated the seminar. Dr Mridul Hazarika, vice chancellor of Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya, Dr Akhil Ranjan Dutta, professor of department of Political Science, Gauhati University attended the programme as keynote speakers, while Pulak Patgiri, secretary of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council was present in the seminar as special guest.
Over 300 principals of HS Schools and other delegates from across the state participated in the seminar as well as in the programmes of the foundation day. The programme began with the unfurling of the flag of the forum following which the participants also paid floral homage to those departed souls who sacrificed to contribute in abundance towards the field of education.
Earlier as part of the celebration, the participants also conducted a plantation drive in and around Dawson HS and Multi-Purpose School, Nagaon.
The state executive president of the forum Juri Devi Goswami, state vice president Faiz Mahammad Borbhyan, and Ranjit Bora were among those who attended the programme, a release added.
