76th batch of Nowgong Govt Boys’ HS School commemorate fallen classmates

NAGAON, Oct 20: The 76th batch of the historic Nowgong Govt Boys’ HS School organised a special commemorative programme in fond memories of their departed classmates at the auditorium of Nagaon Natyamandir and paid homage to them.
During the programme, the members of the batch also organised a special felicitation programme where they felicitated over 20 old and ailing parents of their classmates with a gamosa, cheleng and an appraisal letter.
The parents who were felicitated are Rekha Sarma, Kusum Kumari Bora, Tagor Bora, Aloka Borthakur, Nirmali Hazarika, Subha Borkatoki, Jayantibala Goswami, Renu Bezbaruah, etc., became emotional after receiving the felicitation initiated by the members of the batch. During the programme, the members of the batch also felicitated the family members of the deceased classmates.
The programme anchored by Jatin Das, treasurer of the batch, started with the lighting of earthen lamps by Dr Chachindra Kr Kakoti, president of the batch and Chandan Bora, executive president of the batch respectively. Iftikhar Ahmed Nobi, general secretary of the 76th batch delivered the vote of thanks. Over hundreds of classmates and their families of the 76th batch from across the state participated in the programme.
