GUWAHATI, June 21:
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday asked the cabinet ministers of the state to set an example of maintaining speed limit while travelling on the street to ensure safety of the daily commuters. The party’s Assam Pradesh Committee observed that the increasing number of ‘run over’ cases caused by the ministers’ escort vehicles is alarming and a cause of concern.
AAP’s Assam state coordinator Dr Bhaben Choudury on Tuesday said, “The cabinet decision to impose speed limit for the riders should not be materialised only for the common masses. It must also be maintained by the lawmakers of the state.” Choudhury reiterated that there is growing fear among the general public particularly while travelling on the road.
