BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 5: The Biswanath district committee of the Assam Gorkha Sammelan (AGS) organised a one-day Bhagawat oration in memory of legendary singer Zubeen Garg at the AGS district office in Golia Gaon, Biswanath Chariali, on Sunday.
The programme began with floral tributes paid before the portrait of the iconic singer. A total of six priests conducted the reading of the Bhagawat.

The event was attended by Dr Chinta Mani Sharma president, madan Thapa vice president of the Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Dilip Gajurel vice president of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union, Dr Khemraj Nepa,l Hari Luitel, Binod Khanal and several office bearers from both the central and district AGS committees, along with local residents.
The oration concluded with a community prayer offered for the eternal peace of Zubeen Garg. It is noteworthy that earlier, AGS primary committees and the general public across various regions also held prayers in his memory.
