‘Antaranga Sandhiya’ at Mother’s Old Age Home

GUWAHATI, Nov 9: The University School of Law and Research (USLR), University of Science and Technology Meghalaya recently visited Mothers’ Old Age Home at Hatigaon in Guwahati as part of its donation drive programme.
A programme titled ‘Antaranga Sandhiya’ was organised at the old age home by the law school with support from IQAC and NSS cell of USTM.
Speaking in this context, Dr Baharul Islam, dean of USLR said that the objective of this drive is to help the elderly persons of Mother’s Old Age Home in Hatigaon, Guwahati. The program was supervised by Dr Neena Hamid, assistant professor of USLR.
The event began with a felicitation speech by Dr Neena Hamid who spoke about the responsibility of society towards elderly people. Song and dance were also performed by the students followed by interactive sessions between the inmates of the old age home to inculcate social values among the students.
The staff and students donated blankets and grocery items for the old age home inmates. Everyone from the old age home wholeheartedly thanked each and every one who was part of this drive for their generous contributions. The program ended with a vote of thanks.
