Anti-rabies vaccination drive by JBF

GUWAHATI, Sept 26: JBF Trust successfully conducted a ‘Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive’ in North Guwahati municipality area.
On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2022, JBF is taking initiative to administer anti-rabies vaccines to stray and community dogs all across north-east to achieve the milestone of zero deaths by 2030 as per the appeal of World Health Organization (WHO).
As per information, the dog population in North Guwahati has recently increased significantly which has resulted in menace, causing fear amongst the locals due to frequent street dog bites. Upon receiving the information, JBF intervened into this matter immediately and responded by reaching North Guwahati and administering anti-rabies vaccines to the street dogs with the cooperation of North Guwahati Municipal Board. The areas covered were in and around North Guwahati Municipal Board office, office of the deputy commissioner and IIT Guwahati.
Dr. Sashanka Sekhar Dutta, founder and managing trustee of JBF Trust said, “North Guwahati is significantly developing and the increasing dog population may create conflict between human and animals in coming days. We immediately intervened after knowing the situation so that human and animal could coexist.”
