Abhi, who completed his MTech from the National Institute of Technology in Rourkela, Odisha, shared in an interview with our correspondent that he had an inner urge to serve the nation. The idea of pursuing civil services clicked in his mind while volunteering for an NGO during his college days. He emphasised that civil services provide an opportunity for public engagement, and his hunger to serve society was the motivating factor.

Regarding his preparation, Abhi mentioned that it all began in July 2022 when he took online coaching from SPM IAS Academy, Guwahati. After initial coaching, he familiarised himself with the APSC syllabus and pattern. He dedicated seven hours to self-study regularly, apart from coaching hours. In his free time, he listened to songs to stay refreshed.

Offering advice to new aspirants, Abhi said that self-reflection and an inner urge are the actual driving forces to crack any competitive examination, along with discipline making it easier.

For his achievement, Abhi credited the Almighty, his parents Narayan-Shikha Saha, younger brother, teachers, friends, and everyone who continuously kept him motivated.
