Guwahati, May 2: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is tackling the crisis in Dima Hasao and Barak Valley, triggered by heavy rainfall causing flooding and landslides, according to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Continuous landslides in the hill district have disrupted normal life and caused concerns among residents. The Chief Minister’s Office tweeted that Sarma is monitoring the situation and has directed authorities to restore connectivity as soon as possible and provide assistance to the affected.
Sarma also expressed his condolences to the families affected by the tragic bus accident in Ditokcherra and directed authorities to provide necessary assistance, emphasizing on swift restoration of connectivity and provision of best medical care to the affected.
