Assam CM releases Sylhet-Silchar festival theme song in Silchar

SILCHAR, Nov 30: The audio of the theme song for the Silchar-Sylhet Festival 2022 was released by Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy on November 17, 2022. On Tuesday, the audio-visual format of the theme song was also released. Commenting on the released song, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “A theme song has been prepared for the entire dialogue. Jashobanta Das, Hrishikesh Chakraborty and Kamalesh Bhattacharjee have made this theme song.”
The theme song was also played during the press briefing.
Speaking about the programme during the press briefing on Tuesday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “This will be a large-scale programme and India Foundation has come forward to make it a grand success. I will be in Gujarat and will not be able to come to Silchar for the festival, but our ministers will be here. I believe that this is a very unique occasion and the civil society of Silchar should lend all the support.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Silchar Sylhet Festival 2022 is going to take place at Police Parade Ground on December 2 and 3, 2022. The festival is jointly organised by India Foundation and the ministry of Cultural Affairs, government of India. Around 100 dignitaries from Bangladesh will come to Silchar for the festival.
Notably, there has been a long historical relation between Sylhet and Silchar. This will be an unique opportunity for the people of the area to go back in time and immerse in nostalgia. Through the festival, Silchar and Sylhet will get the opportunity to continue business interaction, cultural interaction and historical interaction.
