SIVASAGAR, Sept 24: The general secretary of All India Trade Union Congress Amarjeet Kaur, while addressing the open session of the 24th State conference of the CPI in Sivasagar Tai Ahom Cultural Centre, blasted the Modi Government citing the National Crime Bureau Records showing horrible accounts of the crimes committed against women, children, wage earners, Dalit, workers in the county in Modi’s ‘eight-year long ache din’. She said that under the BJP rule, 90 p.c. families’ monthly income drops to Rs 10 thousand, 68 p.c. men and women who want jobs are without jobs but the income of Adani and Ambani increased multifold. She said that there is not a single patriot in the BJP-RSS who fought against the British during the independence struggle and rather ‘as their leaders Hedgewar and Savarkar claimed they fought against the Muslims, the Christians and the Communists. Kaur claimed that the Communists the world over sacrificed the most to liberate the world from Nazi fascists and today’s world is also looking up to the Communists to liberate it from the clutch of the neo-Nazis, fascists, the capitalists

Earlier, former CPI general secretary Munin Mahanta addressed the session presided over by Dharma Baruah and said that the Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Government has not set up a single industry in the State but is selling off the existing ones one by one to private parties. The BJP Government reversed the rate of cash flow into the State from the earlier 90 p.c. assistance and 10 p.c. loan to 70 p.c. loan and 30 p.c. assistance putting great constraints upon the people of the State. The BJP Government was about to sell the two oil industries OIL and the ONGC also but vehement opposition from the left and democratic parties finally thwarted the State Government’s move. He urged the partymen to fight for safeguarding the land, the resources, and the language of the people of the State.

A massive cultural procession on Saturday morning marked the beginning of the three-day conference which will be addressed by many national CPI leaders including its general secretary Pallov Sengupta.
