Guwahati, May 25: In a commendable late-night operation, the patrolling team from Dimakuchi police station, led by Officer-in-Charge Mahananda Bhuyan, successfully rescued a rare pangolin along the Dimakuchi-Badlapara road.
The rescue effort unfolded when the police team spotted the pangolin, a critically endangered species, weighing between three to four kilograms. Acting swiftly, the team ensured the creature’s safety, preventing any harm from befalling it.
Officer-in-Charge Mahananda Bhuyan emphasized the importance of protecting the region’s vulnerable wildlife, highlighting the need for prompt action to safeguard endangered species.
Following the rescue, Dimakuchi police coordinated with authorities at the Barnadi Sanctuary to arrange for the safe transfer of the pangolin. Plans are now underway to transport the rescued creature to the sanctuary, where it will be released under the supervision of forest officials, ensuring its well-being and conservation.
