GUWAHATI, Dec 3: On the occasion of the 138th birth anniversary of the first President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad, Assam Governor prof Jagdish Mukhi along with the First Lady of Assam Prem Mukhi, officers and employees of Raj Bhavan paid floral tributes at the statue of Dr Rajendra Prasad in Raj Bhavan on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor recalled the instrumental role of Dr Rajendra Prasad in India’s freedom struggle and in framing the constitution. He also said that he was a source of inspiration to every citizen of this great nation and his distinguished contributions in nation building, his legal acumen and his noble ideals on democracy will continue to inspire the countrymen.
Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Harmeet Singh, commissioner and secretary to the Governor Meenakshi Sundaram and DC Kamrup Metro Pallav Gopal Jha also paid their tributes during the event.
