Dispur, May 7: BJP MLA Atul Bora from Dispur constituency, who had initially decided not to vote due to astrological advice, cast his vote at Bagharbari LP School at 3 pm. His decision to abstain from voting was due to the significance of Tuesday, a day he has lost family members on.
However, after his supporters’ insistence and on his marriage anniversary, Bora decided to vote. He talked to the media about his reasons for considering not to vote, including remembering his deceased family members and observing his marriage anniversary.
He also mentioned seeking blessings from Lord Hanuman and his departed parents before voting. Bora also expressed his dissatisfaction with voters choosing NOTA (None of the Above), calling them ‘notorious’, and suggested that the Election Commission should reframe the term NOTA.
His decision to vote, in spite of his personal beliefs, underlines the complexities and personal factors involved in the voting process.
