Assam: Keshab Mahanta Inspects Cancer Hospital At Jorhat

JORHAT, April 26: Assam Health and Family Welfare minister Keshab Mahanta on Tuesday inspected the newly-constructed Cancer Hospital within the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital campus to take stock of the arrangements of the public function to be held on the inaugural ceremony of the hospital.
The said hospital along with six others across the state will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from Dibrugarh on Thursday.
The hospitals have been established at Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Darrang, Barpeta and Kokrajhar – by the Assam Cancer Care Foundation – an initiative of Assam government and Tata Trusts.
Jorhat deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman, additional deputy commissioner’s- Damodar Barman and Satyajit Chetia- and superintendent of the Cancer Hospital (Jorhat) Dr Bipul Bhuyan accompanied the minister during his visit.
