BISWANATH CHARIALI, July 9: An NCF (Nature Conservation Foundation) worker was killed in a wild elephant attack early on Wednesday morning while on duty at the Pakke Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary in Pakke Kessang district of Arunachal Pradesh, near the Assam-Arunachal border.
According to reports, two NCF workers, Khem Thapa and Narayan Magar, encountered a wild elephant while on duty in the sanctuary.
While Thapa managed to escape, the elephant attacked Narayan Magar, killing him on the spot.
Thapa later informed the Pakke Tiger Reserve office, following which a team of forest officials and Seijosa police personnel reached the location, recovered the body, and brought it to the Seijosa police station.
The body was later sent for autopsy.
Narayan Magar hailed from the Balijuri area in the northern part of Jamugurihat.
His tragic death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire Balijuri locality.
