Nagaon, Jan 11: On Thursday, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials conducted a search operation at Nowgong Girls’ College, Assam, following forgery allegations against the principal, Dr. Kulen Chandra Das.
The Anusuchita Jati Xongrami Parishad Assam accused Dr. Das of presenting fake caste certificates for his job appointment.
In response to the complaint, CID Assam conducted a raid to verify Dr. Das’s caste certificates, supervised by CID Inspector Sanjib Das.
Reports suggest that the CID also carried out similar searches for counterfeit documents at various other locations.
Investigations included caste certificates of Mamoni Deka, an employee at State Bank of India’s Haibar gaon branch, and junior scientist Bidisha Bora of Assam Agricultural University’s Nagaon branch, among others.
