Assam Rifles organises lecture on women empowerment

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Dec 6: Lokra Battalion of Agartala sector and under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a lecture on ‘Women Empowerment’ for the students of Hazarika Junior College, Chariduar, under Sonitpur district on Tuesday, stated a press release.
The lecture was aimed at educating the local youth on various policies undertaken by the government of India for the welfare and upliftment of women in various fields. The youth were also enlightened on how women are playing a dominant and important role in all spheres and their immense contributions towards the progress of the nation.
During the event, motivational talks were also delivered by riflewomen of Lokra Battalion. The attendees expressed gratitude to the Lokra Battalion for organising the awareness lecture and the concerted efforts of Assam Rifles towards betterment of the women in society.
A total of 60 students and 10 staff from Hazarika Junior College attended the lecture.
