Guwahati , 21 Oct:Assam is moving ahead with plans to strengthen its industrial sector, with the state government announcing a major investment in a new Ammonia-Urea complex.
The Chief Minister stated on X that the plant will receive ₹1,272 crore in funding, aimed at boosting employment and supporting the regional economy. The announcement follows the nearing completion of the state’s Semiconductor Facility, which is expected to be operational soon.
The Ammonia-Urea project will complement ongoing industrial development, providing both direct jobs in the plant and indirect opportunities across associated supply chains. The move signals Assam’s focus on diversifying its industrial base beyond traditional sectors.
The state government did not provide a specific timeline for the plant’s commissioning but indicated that preparatory work is already underway.
