MARGHERITA, June 26: On Friday midnight, Ledo police outpost of Margherita sub division of Tinsukia district, Jyotish Phukan(i/c) of Ledo police outpost and his team detained two notorious drugs peddler along with 15 gm of brown sugar, 20 gm of cannabis, 2 mobile phones and a cash amount of Rs 17,000 from their possession.
The two detained drugs peddler has been identified as Apu Das and Abhijjt Changmai both residents of Ledo under Margherita sub division of Tinsukia district.
Notably, Abhijit Changmai is a Ledo based journalist of satellite news channel Assam Talks and was involved in drug peddling for many months, said Margherita and Ledo police.
A case has been registered at Margherita police station under US NDPS Act and the duo has been sent to judicial custody.
