GUWAHATI, May 4: The recently declared results of the HSLC and HS Examination have significantly enhanced the importance of Vidya Bharati’s ideals and mother-tongue-based education in Assam.
The exceptional performance of students from the Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketans, affiliated with Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan under the Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, has garnered wide appreciation from the public of Assam.
Outstanding students from various regions of Assam were felicitated at a special award and felicitation ceremony organised by the Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, at the Rajnikant Dev Sharma Memorial Auditorium of Vishnupath Shankardev Shishu Vidya Niketan, Zoo Road, Guwahati.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the invocation, led by Ganga Prasad Prasain, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University, the President of Vidya Bharati Northeast Zone, and members of the Malpani family.
Retired Air Vice Marshal Sanjeev Bardoloi, as the keynote speaker, lauded Vidya Bharati’s contributions to nation-building. Chief Guest Debabrata Das, Advisor for Higher Education, Government of Assam, highlighted how Vidya Bharati’s value-based education fosters the development of ideal citizens. The gathering was also addressed by the committee’s President, Shri Kulendra Kumar Bhagawati, and Saroj Malpani.
In this dignified ceremony, students scoring 95% or above, principals of schools achieving 100% pass results for the first time, and those where all students passed with First Division were honored. The award distribution was coordinated by Arup Buzarbaruah, Principal of Birubari Shankardev Shishu Niketan.
According to the information provided by Publicity Head Mukuteswar Goswami, out of 529 Niketans under the Brahmaputra Valley region of the committee, 330 participated in the High School Final Examination. A total of 9,960 students appeared, with a pass percentage of 94.03%. Among these, 168 Niketans achieved 100% pass results. A total of 541 students received distinctions, and 1,670 earned star marks. Of the 9,960 examinees, 6,143 secured First Division, 2,857 Second Division, and 365 Third Division.
In addition, a total of 12,180 letter marks were recorded, with many students scoring 100% in various subjects.
In the Higher Secondary Examination, out of 692 students, 657 passed, resulting in a 95% success rate. Of 44 Niketans, 34 achieved 100% pass results. A total of 19 students earned distinctions, 68 received star marks; 300 students passed in First Division, 250 in Second Division, and 107 in Third Division.
