Awareness on ‘Sah Gach Sambardhana aru Sajagota Sabha’ held at Harchura TE

TEZPUR, May 3: Goodrick limited and Harchura Tea Estate held a special awareness programme christening ‘Sah Gach Sambardhana aru Sajagota Sabha’ in connection with the observance of May Day recently in the garden near Balipara area in Sonitpur district to create awareness on importance of tea bushes and preventing vandalism.
A tea party was also organised with the workers with the theme of ‘One cup of positivei-TEA with everybody’. ABITA Zone 3 secretary Mrinmoy Baruah, assistant secretary of Zone 3 Aditya Chakraborty, among others dignitaries were present in the event and delivered their valuable speech on the subject matter mentioned. In his speech, Mrinmoy Baruah said that everybody should respect the tea bushes and work to create an opinion against vandalism. “It is the only way of livelihood for many which is running generation after generation so we should respect our source of livelihood.” Mrinmoy said.
Other dignitaries present in the august event also gave speeches in connection with the matter urging one and all to work for checking vandalism and to make people aware of the importance of tea bushes.
A cultural program was organised showcasing traditional dances of different communities amongst the tea tribes.
