BISWANATH CHARIALI, Aug 11: On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which is being celebrated across the country, an awareness programme was held at THB College, Jamugurihat. In commemoration of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters, a lecture session was organised. Dr Jayanta Baruah, HoD, Political Science delivered a lecture on the topic ‘75 Years of India’s Independence: Expectations and Achievements’. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Ajit Hazarika, the principal of the College. Dr Khanjan Kumar Das, HoD, Assamese also spoke on the sacrifices and contributions of Tyagbir Hem Baruah, an eminent and revered freedom fighter of the country.
An induction programme was also held on the same day for the first semester students of the college. Acting as the resource person for the programme, Dr Nava Jyoti Hazarika discussed various issues pertaining to the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) courses and clarified doubts of the newly enrolled students. Both the programmes were anchored by Sumanta Rajbanshi, co-ordinator, IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) THB College.
