Birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad observed at Margherita

MARGHERITA, Oct 9: On the occasion of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad’s birth anniversary, Central Margherita Muslim Committee took out a colourful religious procession on Sunday from Nure Jami Masjid Margherita to NH 315 near Punjab National Bank, Margherita. More than 1000 people of Margherita sub division, under Tinsukia district participated in the procession.
Taufik Khan, secretary of Central Margherita Muslim Committee said that in the year 570 AD, Prophet Hazrat Mohammad was born at Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Taufik Khan said that Islam is one of the peaceful religions of world, where no one is discriminated and that is why Islam is the second largest religion in the world.
“Prophet Hazrat Mohammad taught us the lesson of love, equality, peace, harmony and brotherhood,” said Taufik Khan.
“After the colourful religious procession, everyone gathered at Nure Jami Masjid, Margherita and prayed to almighty Allah for world peace, harmony and brotherhood,” said Taufik Khan.
