Biswanath district admin conducts eviction drive at Itakhola

BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 31: Biswanath district administration conducted an eviction drive at Itakhola under Sootea LAC on Tuesday morning. The eviction drive was conducted at Itakhola commercial centre against the shop owners who had illegally encroached the government land and built their business establishments. A team of Biswanath district administration under the guidance of Akashdeep Kakaty; circle officer of Naduar revenue circle along with other concerned officials reached the site at 6 in the morning. The civil administration was accompanied by a troupe of CRPF besides four JCB’s (excavators). The circle officer warned the shop owners to vacate their shops immediately. The eviction drive was conducted at 8 in the morning wherein more than fifty pucca shops were destroyed. Talking to the media gathering here, Akashdeep Kakaty said that due to the encroachment, cases like road mishap are on the rise in this area.
