Books inaugurated in Tezpur

TEZPUR, April 23: In an august book release function held on Thursday here at Baan Theatre, three books namely ‘Geet Manjuri’, ‘Srimadbhagabat Manthan’ and ‘Samaguri Satrar Dharma aru Sanskritir Parampara’ were released formally. The august event held under the banner of ‘Asamiya Surakshya Mancha’ was graced by a host of dignitaries including president, Asamiya Surakshya Mancha, Pranjal Borah; secretary, Baan Theatre, Jitumani Deva Choudhury; professor, Tezpur College, Raghab Mahanta; Dr Pradip Mahanta, retired principal, THB College; Ganesh Pathak and Dr Jaikrishna Mahanta among others. However, ‘Geet Manjuri’ a compilation of ankia naat geet by Aiti Mahanta was released by Runima Sarmah Baruah, retired vice principal of Kaliabor College while two books ‘Srimad Bhagabat Manthan’ and ‘Samaguri Satra Dharma aru Sanskritr Parampara’ penned by Lakhyanath Mahanta were released respectively by joint commissioner, Assam Police, Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Dr Jay Krishna Mahanta. Dignitaries Dr Pranjit Hazarika, retired professor of Tezpur College; assistant professor, Jamuguri College, Nripen Saikia; assistant professor of Biswanath College, Taranath Mahanta and retired vice principal of Darrang College, Dr Gahan Chandra Mahanta were present as special guests of the event spoke on the three books.
Releasing the books three noted personalities Runima Sarmah Baruah, Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Dr Jay Krishna Mahanta also spoke on the subject matters of the three books.
Earlier Ganesh Pathak, retired principal, THB College delivered his welcome speech while after the presidents’ speech Prof Manika Goswami gave her vote of thanks.
