BRLF releases tribal development report

‘The report will prove valuable in understanding the nuances of development of tribal areas’

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 29: The first ever tribal development report (TDR) of India was released on Tuesday at a programme held in New Delhi, which has highlighted about the various unique aspects of tribal development and rural livelihoods across the country.
The report was released under the initiative taken by Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) which was based on the valuable spirit in understanding the nuances of development of tribal areas and helping hand towards the guiding effective policy making for bringing welfare and progress of the tribal and indigenous communities.
Notably, the BRLF has done pathbreaking research into the various unique aspects of tribal development and rural livelihoods across the country and highlighted their welfare aspect and prospects.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro attended the programme and shared views into the development and welfare aspects of the tribal and indigenous communities in the country.
Boro said, “The report will prove valuable in understanding the nuances of development of tribal areas and will help guide effective policy making for their (tribal peoples) welfare and progress.”
He has lauded the BRLF for its initiative for releasing the reports on tribal areas development and welfare aspects.
He has expressed his happiness while getting opportunity to be part of the release of India’s first Tribal Development Report by Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation in New Delhi
