Celebration of World Heritage Week in Dima Hasao

HAFLONG, Nov 19: On the auspicious occasion of World Heritage Week 2022, the Directorate of Archaeology, Assam in collaboration with NC Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong and district administration of Haflong has organised an international seminar on ‘Archaeological heritage of India and its cross-cultural ties with South East Asia’ at the auditorium hall of Haflong Government College, Haflong on Saturday.
The programme will continue for a week w.e.f November 19 to November 25, to create awareness among the people for protection and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Assam.
The programme was attended by Dr Ranoj Pegu, minister of Education; Nandita Gorlosa, minister of Indigenous & Tribal Faith and Culture, Power, Cooperation, Mines & Minerals; TT Daolagupu, ACS principal secretary (T) NC Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong; Nazreen Ahmed, ACS deputy commissioner, Dima Hasao; Dr Deepi Rekha Kouli, director, Directorate of Archaeology, Assam and other dignitaries.
