CEM Pramod Boro visits Kamalabari Mazboot

KOKRAJHAR, Aug 21: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member Pramod Boro on Saturday visited the Nijwra Centre Kamalabari near Mazbat of Udalguri district to take stock about the victim family members of recently occurred man-elephant conflict incident that left three person’s dead including a young minor girl of a family and only a young minor girl was somehow left in the family from the incident.
Notably, three persons of a family were trampled by a wild elephant a few four days ago at Kamalabari near Mazbat.
Boro was accompanied by BTR executive members Ranjit Basumatary, Dr Nilut Swargiary, BTR MCLA Sanjay Swargiary and forest department officials.
BTR CEM Boro interacted with the young minor who is now the only living family member of the family.
Boro informed that the BTR government and forest department have been initiating necessary measures to ensure an environment free from man-elephant conflict situation across the region.
Boro has assured that the victim family members of the family would be given Rs 4 lakh from BTR government as ex-gratia and educational financial involvement of the surviving minor girl.
BTR executive member for forest department, Ranjit Basumatary informed that the BTR government has been emphasising to construct solar fencing facilities along the forest adjoining villages to protect the common masses from the man-elephant conflict situations in Bodoland Territorial Region districts.
