MARGHERITA, Oct 26: Chhath Milan Samaroh 2022 was organised by Children Friends Club (NGO), Margherita at Bishnujyoti Sanskriti Samaj Auditorium, Tinsukia on Sunday with huge pomp and gaiety.
The program was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Nath Kairy, chairperson of Tinsukia Zilla Parishad where Ranjit Choudhary, president of Bazaltoli Gaon Panchayat, sports journalist of Assamese daily ‘Pratidin’ and ‘Janambhumi’ Amrit Sharma, deputy advisor of village defence party of Margherita sub division Bikash Baruah, COVDO of Digboi police station Luckymaa Mech Karmakar, civil engineer Awadesh Goswami, cultural activist of Tinsukia Ujjal Singh Mehra were felicitated with traditional Assamese phoolam gamosa and a citation.
In the programme, Margherita Journalists Association’s treasurer Mithun Baruah, journalist Mridu Baruah, Margherita Daily Bazaar Committee president and social worker Ram Hriday Sah (Kanthi), child activist D. Simon, secretary of Bordoloi Nagar Unnayan Mahila Samiti Linu Chakraboty were present as guests and were felicitated by Children Friends Club with traditional Assamese gamosa.
The programme was moderated by Pappu Sah, president of Children Friends Club (NGO), Margherita.
Child artists such as Titikhya Hazarika, Avayanand Goswami, Sibani Chetia, Harshita Deka, Ayuspriya Saikia, Tysha Bordoloi, Trisha Das, Aditya Baruah, Pratusha Simon, Ridima Paul were awarded for their participation in online Bhojpuri traditional dress competition and cultural performance in the event.
