Children’s Day celebration at Margherita

MARGHERITA, Nov 13: Pre School Education and Development Society, Tinsukia, in collaboration with Let’s Spread Knowledge and Educational Team, Assam celebrated Children’s Day at Margherita India Club on Saturday.
Mitali Roy, managing director of Let’s Spread Knowledge and Educational Team, Assam gave the welcome speech.
Several competitions including singing, dancing, beauty contests and fashion shows were held where more than 300 children from different parts of Margherita sub-division participated.
The event also featured an exhibition of handmade wood and bamboo handicrafts, stone handicrafts and various types of wall paintings by Ledu Young Painters Society.
The event was inaugurated by Kailash Gupta, president of All Assam Bhojpuri Parishad Central Committee who was present as a chief guest. Gupta said that he felt very lucky to be present at the event and thanked the organisers.
The main objective of the event was to support poor children and orphans and the organisers will be donating the proceeds that they collected during the programme on November 14 to orphanages.
