Class IX student from Itakhola goes missing

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Feb 23: A 16-year-old student from Itakhola in Biswanath district has been reported missing since February 19, raising concern among family members and local residents.

The missing boy has been identified as Derhasar Basumatary, son of Prabin Basumatary and Anjali Basumatary, residents of No 1 Serfanguri near the Assam–Arunachal border under the Itakhola outpost.

He is a Class IX student of Holy Kind English School and was appearing for his ongoing annual examinations.

According to family sources, Derhasar left home following a domestic conflict involving his mother and sister.

Since then, he has remained untraceable despite extensive efforts by relatives to locate him.

After failing to find any leads, the family lodged a missing person complaint at the Itakhola police outpost on Sunday.

Police have initiated necessary steps to trace the minor.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Derhasar Basumatary has been requested to contact the family at 8011026997 or 9365690661, or inform the Itakhola police immediately.
