MARGHERITA, AUG 22: Assam Gas Company Ltd (AGCL), Margherita branch has allegedly been cheating consumers in the name of bills due to which the consumers gathered at AGCL Margherita branch office on Monday.
One consumer said, “Earlier per unit was Rs 15 now it is Rs 26.13 and without any notice, the AGCL management have increased the tariff and now instead of every month, the bill comes after two or three months for which we are facing difficulties to pay the bill.”
“Every time in the name of bill, many malpractices are done by the employees of AGCL Margherita branch. We have to come to the office today to correct our bills which has become a routine duty of every consumer of AGCL Margherita branch,” said another consumer.
“AGCL Margherita branch which stretches from Powai to Jagun area has only two workers, from field duty to office work, the two workers have to maintain everything and this is happening due to the negligence of AGCL head office Duliajan,” added a consumer.
The consumers demanded Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and Margherita Administration (Civil) to take strong measures against the management of Assam Gas Company Ltd management.
