MORIGAON, Jan 10: Members of the Morigaon district committee of CPI (Communist Party of India) along with AITCU and led by the veteran politician of the CPI — Munin Mahanta staged a three-hour sit-in demonstration near the DC’s office.
The protesters criticised the BJP-led government over the delimitation process of the Assam Assembly constituencies and also over the “delay” in publishing the NRC in full.
Moreover, vetern leader (CPI) Munin Mahanta expressed his displeasure over the government’s process of eviction by using bulldozers and escalators against the people of the minority people.
The CPI leader urged the government to stop eviction drive in the greater interest of strengthening the Assamese society. He also appealed the goverment to repeal the Citizen Ammendment Act (CAA) immediately.
