Jorhat, 25 Oct:The two-day closing programme of Pankaj Bilas Kalakshetra’s Silver Jubilee concluded with a vibrant cultural procession in the heart of Teok.
Twenty-five years ago, people from across Assam, representing various communities and religions, came together in Teok inspired by the ideals of their elders. They established a social and cultural centre named Pankaj Bilas Kalakshetra Maitristhal Namghar.
The silver jubilee year featured events throughout the year, culminating in the final celebrations held on 23 and 24 October. Yesterday, a public meeting was held to distribute awards for competitions conducted earlier and to launch a commemorative book marking the Silver Jubilee.
Today, the organisers began the final day with a large cultural rally showcasing the arts and traditions of different communities. The afternoon featured literary and artistic programmes, while the evening concluded with performances by local artists, presenting immortal creations of notable personalities.
The two-day celebration highlighted Assam’s cultural diversity and community spirit, providing a platform for artistic expression and remembrance of the institution’s 25-year journey.
