NAGAON, June 25: Dawson HS and Multi Purposes School, a historic and a pioneer institute of education in Nagaon marked a tremendous academic feedback in 2024 after decades owing to the strict administration, sacrifice as well as hardwork of the incumbent principal of the institution here.
Dawson HS and MP School was established in 1916 at Nagaon and played a pivotal role in the field of education in the district since its establishment and set a centenary long glorious history in teaching as well as learning in the district. Since the beginning of the twenty first century, the historic glory of the institution started to sliding from its pace due to various reasons. At this transitory stage, Tapan Kumar Baidya, dedicated and hardworking person joined in the institution as a principal and insisted on creating a sustainable environment of learning and decorated the school campus with the facilities of art and crafts from historical point of view.

Besides, along with scenic environment, he also gave more importance on friendly relationship between teachers and students so that the clouds of hesitation could be removed from the mind of the students. As a result of his dedication as well as his enormous initiatives and hardwork, Dawson HS and MP School registered a historic mark in science, arts and commerce stream in HS Final Examination 2024 and also secured the first position in science stream in the district.
Rajnandini Baidya from Dawson HS and MP School, bagged 2nd position in science stream in the state with 481 total marks while Sivangi Kashyap from Salt Brook school, Dibrugarh secured the first position in the state with 484 total marks out of 500. A total of 46 students in science stream from Dawson HS and MP School appeared in HS Final Examination 2024 and all of them registered a record with passing in first division.
Similarly, in commerce stream, 37 students appeared in the examination and all of them cleared the examination successfully. Besides in arts stream, out of 156 students, 147 students successfully cracked the examination in the current academic session.
It is pertinent to mention here that such heroic performance is an ultimate fruit of dedication, sacrifice as well as hardwork of Tapan Kumar Baidya, the principal of the institution.
