Debolal Gorlosa distributes scooters among students in Dima Hasao

GUWAHATI, Dec 12: North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council chief executive member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa distributed scooters to meritorious students at Haflong, Dima Hasao district on Monday as a part of Dr Banikanta Kakoti Meritorious Award 2022, under Praygan Bharati Scheme. The distribution ceremony was held at the Haflong Government College auditorium.
152 numbers of students qualified from the district for the award who cleared the higher secondary final examination this year. Qualifying marks for the boys was 75 percent and above, whereas for girls it was 60 percent and above.
Addressing the students present during the occasion, CEM Debolal Gorlosa congratulated them and wished for a bright future. Speaking about the importance of healthy competition among the students, he encouraged them by saying that success comes with hard work.
He also spoke about prospective job opportunities under various offices within the district of Dima Hasao as a result of many new development projects which also includes educational institutions and other services.
Lauding the generous step of the state government in order to encourage the student fraternity, Debolal Gorlosa said that every student must focus on this aspect and take this as a motivational factor to perform better.
During the occasion, deputy commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, ACS and superintendent of police Mayank Kumar, IPS was also present. Others present were the ADCs, professors, officials and students.
