MORIGAON, Oct 26: An allegation was sought against a subject teacher of Laharighat HS School by the local people here for allegedly drawing salary without having a single student in the school for almost 30 years.
The subject teacher of Mathematics, Abdul Wahab was appointed in March 1992, at Laharighat HS School. Since then, he has been drawing a salary as a subject teacher under DSE, Assam without having a single student in the school which prevailed a great resentment among the public.
It is alleged that though the subject teacher taught Mathematics for almost 2 years from 1992 to 1994, not a single student was able to appear in the final exams of higher secondary.
Some local conscious youths of Laharighat have lodged complaints with the district authority and ultimately intimated the matter to the DSE, Assam on September 29, 2022 with a suggestion to transfer or engage him in another HS school having students of Mathematics under rationalisation of teachers of senior secondary schools with immediate effect.
