Dengue Outbreak: 45% Positivity Rate In Diphu

DIPHU, Aug 17: The Dengue outbreak in the Diphu Municipal Board area shows no signs of abating, with the positivity rate remaining alarmingly high at 45% as of Wednesday. Tragically, the death toll from the outbreak has reached 3.

According to the latest Dengue status report released by the health department, a total of 130 tests (Elisa) were conducted up to Wednesday, of which 79 yielded positive results.

At the Diphu Medical College & Hospital, out of a total of 130 samples tested, 79 were found to be positive for Dengue. On Wednesday alone, 11 new cases were admitted for treatment, while 6 patients were discharged. The cumulative statistics up to Wednesday indicate that 348 individuals have been admitted for treatment, out of which 318 have been discharged. Additionally, 4 cases were referred for further medical attention.

The overall number of tests conducted using the Elisa method stands at 6,309, out of which 2,857 have been confirmed as positive for Dengue, while 3,452 tests returned negative results.

As the health authorities in Diphu continue to grapple with the Dengue outbreak, efforts to contain the disease and provide adequate medical care remain a top priority.
