Dima Hasao deputy commissioner publishes draft electoral rolls

HAFLONG, Nov 9: Deputy commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, ACS and district election officer (DEO) held a press meet with political parties and media representatives at the DC’s conference hall to publish the draft electoral rolls of 16-Haflong (ST) LAC. The final electoral rolls will be published on January 5, 2023, informed DC and district election officer Nazreen Ahmed in presence of election officer Bruhid Rabha and ADC AR Mazumder.
In the meeting, deputy commissioner Nazreen Ahmed informed that the draft photo electoral roll pertains to 16-Haflong (ST) LA. Constituency in respect of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll/2023, has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. Copy of the same is published to-day i.e. on November 9, 2022 and is available for inspection at the office of the undersigned and at all polling stations, during office hours.
The qualifying date for preparation of the electoral rolls is January 1, 2023. If, with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before December 8, 2022 in Form 6, 7, or 8 as may be appropriate.
Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the office or be submitted through available online modes or sent by post to the address district election office, Dima Hasao district, Haflong so as to reach not later than the aforesaid date i.e. December 8, 2022
An eligible citizen, who is going to attain the age of eighteen years on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in the year 2023, that is to say, April 1, July 1, or October 1, 2023, may also file his or her claim for inclusion of his or her name in the roll, in Form-6, in advance, starting from the date of notice, and the same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date.
