GUWAHATI, Feb 14: Ceremonial rice varietal crop cafeteria of Boro paddy was conducted by District Agriculture office, Sonitpur under the aegis of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) on Tuesday.
District agricultural officer, Sonitpur, Pankaj Saikia inaugurated the event by giving a brief overview of the project initiated by APART and about the ceremonial transplanting of rice varietal crop cafeteria event. He encouraged the farmers to adopt the scientific methods of crop cultivation.
SDAO cum district nodal officer APART, Sonitpur, Pranjal Sarmah guided the entire event by demonstrating the scientific way of transplanting with proper spacing and also placed his expert view on scientific management practices of paddy fields.
On the other hand, ADO, Dipota Dipanka Barik and Pankaj Baruah, RT, APART gave a description of the event by demonstrating different rice varieties and the feasible characteristics of the same which the farmers would be capable of easily adopting in future.
The event was conducted on the field of a women farmer, Taz Nahar Begum of Rajbhoral village, under Gabhoru Block, Tezpur with 10 different Boro paddy varieties.
