GUWAHATI, May 15: All India Marwari Federation (AIMF) two-day long 27th national convention concluded in Guwahati with a grand success. In the hospitality of North East Federation with the help of Marwari Sammelan Guwahati Branch, the national convention was successfully conducted on Sunday at Terapanth Dharmasthala, Fancy Bazar in Guwahati. The second day of convention started at Mahavir Sthal by hosting the Flag of AIMF by national president Govardhan Prasad Garodia.
After this, the national president, office bearers and other dignitaries paid their tribute to all the former national presidents, those who are no more.
While conducting the inauguration ceremony, Pradeep Bhuwalka requested all the dignitaries on stage, lighting the lamp. The stage was further enhanced by the presence of Ashok Singhal, minister of Assam as the chief guest of the day. NEMF provincial president Kailash Kabra, in his inaugural presidential address, kept Marwari the best wishes for the flow of new public awareness from the north-east from the national convention. While welcoming everyone, chairman of Reception Committee Ashok Dhanuka, defining the burning issues of the society, wished for new ideas to emerge from mutual brainstorming in his speech. National general secretary Sanjay Harlalka presented his secretarial report. National president Garodia, while addressing the house at the end of his session, expressed his gratitude for the constructive cooperation of all and kept his words towards social consciousness.
In the presence of chief guest, Ashok Singhal, the Social Service Award in the memory of former national president Bhanwarlal Ji Singhi, for this year was conferred to Padma Chand Jain of Ranchi and the National Directory of AIMF was also released. The souvenir – ‘Manthan’ published on the occasion of the national convention was unveiled by the chief guest through the editors – Ramesh Kumar Chandak, Ratan Agarwal and Pawan Jajodia.
Handing over the charge to the newly elected national president Shivkumar Lohia, Govardhan Prasad Garodia assumed the responsibility by wearing a wreath and assumed the post of the outgoing national president. On assuming office, national president Shivkumar Lohia assured to conduct the work sincerely, wishing everyone’s cooperation in discharging his responsibility and also announced the nomination of Kailashpati Todi as the national general secretary of AIMF.
Chief guest Ashok Singhal suggested few burning issues of the society which to be discussed in the session of the conference keeping the important points in his social address. Citing the example of the work done by the forefathers, he talked about great contribution in limited income, in today’s perspective, despite the progressive increase in the prosperity and potential of the society, he made cognizance of the lack of concrete contribution, he ensured the social heritage along with the prosperity itself. It was said to be a sign of an awakened society and called upon everyone to come forward to contribute.
After the speech of former national president Santosh Saraf, national president Shivkumar Lohia and general secretary Todi were felicitated by conference branches of various states and Guwahati. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks by national vice president Dr Shyam Sundar Harlalka.
The provincial organisation secretary Vimal Agarwal said that proposals in various subjects were passed unanimously and everyone was requested for suggestions on amendment in the Constitution. Apart from this, various speakers kept their views. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the province, provincial general secretary Vinod Kumar Lohia and provincial vice president headquarters Ramesh Kumar Chandak congratulated all the guests and Marwari Sammelan Guwahati branch’s collaborators.
