SIVASAGAR, May 3: Speaking at an interactive programme organised by the 49 Assam Naval Unit NCC, Sivasagar and hosted by the Gargaon College on Tuesday, Major General Bhaskar Kalita, YSM, ADG NCC NER opined that “Every child is a talented and an invaluable human resource development”. Maj Gen Kalita in his deliberation threw light on the history of NCC and how it is growing over time. He pointed out the mission and vision of NCC and showed how cadets can contribute to the good of the nation. He emphasised on the important aspects of leadership and how NCC can help them in becoming a good leader. He also handed over a memento to the principal of the host institution, Gargaon College, Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta. MN Dahal, IAS, deputy commissioner Sivasagar also interacted with the students and cadets on the occasion.
Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta in his welcome address expressed hope that the knowledge and suggestions of Maj Gen Kalita would instill a deep sense of inspiration in the students to build their careers in the Armed Forces. Dr Mahanta also expressed his gratitude to Maj Gen Kalita and Megha Nidhi Dahal (IAS), deputy commissioner of Sivasagar for gracing the occasion. The programme was also attended by the principal of SPP College, Namti, Dr Dhurbajyoti Nath, Lt. Commander Rajesh Bhujel, CO 49 Assam Naval Unit NCC, NCC cadets from different colleges of Sivasagar, students and faculty members of Gargaon college. The programme was moderated by Dr Raktim Patar and the vote of thanks was offered by Pimily Langthasa.
