thousands of such people from Garukhuti and Dhalpur demonstrated in front of the Revenue Circle Office here on Monday.

Sources informed that among the promises made by the government to the affected public were allocation of 1 bigha land for each family, pucca house, sanitary latrine, drinking water facility and set up schools.

Hundreds of the 2051 evicted families were shifted to Shyampur and Arimari last year under the Dalgaon Revenue Circle while the remaining people are being shifted in a phased manner.

Meanwhile, the shifted families have alleged that the authorities concerned have not delivered the promises made during eviction. Thousands of the evicted people including women and children gathered in front of the Dalgaon Revenue Circle and staged protest demanding proper rehabilitation.
