MORIGAON, May 16: An eviction drive was conducted by Morigaon district administration at Silbhanga’s former paper mill’s land on Saturday last. The day long eviction drive was conducted against the encroachers who had encroached over 6 bigha lands of the former paper mill (of late, it is under Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd.) and has been illegally living on the land by building concrete houses and shops. Morigaon district administration conducted the eviction drive after issuing a notice against the encroachers. The district administration drove out a total of 30 families peacefully from the land.
