Guwahati, 15 Oct : A court on Wednesday, October 15, placed five individuals connected to the Zubeen Garg case under judicial custody. The accused includes the late singer’s close associates and Personal Security Officers, taken into custody following court proceedings.
Those sent to custody reportedly include NorthEast India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma, his cousin Sandipan Garg, and bodyguards Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya. Senior advocate Pradip Konwar confirmed that none of the accused have applied for bail so far.
Sources indicate that Mahanta and Sharma may be transferred to Baksa District Jail in Mushalpur, though temporary arrangements have been made to house them at Guwahati Central Jail. The accused are expected to remain in custody during the initial period without seeking interim relief from the court.
