Wild mushrooms are highly prized delicacies in both rural and urban areas of Karbi Anglong. Various species found growing in the wild are commonly harvested and consumed with enthusiasm. However, misidentification of poisonous mushrooms often leads to poisoning incidents. Despite repeated warnings from authorities and widespread sharing of such cases on social media, reports of mushroom poisoning continue, especially during the rainy season when wild mushrooms proliferate.
