Flood Breached Embankments will be Repaired Soon: Pramod Boro

KOKRAJHAR, June 21:
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro has assured for immediate repair works against the damage of roads, breached embankments at various places in Kokrajhar district and its adjoining areas due to flash floods.
On Monday, Boro visited the overflowing Saralbhanga river site near Jharbari under Dotma development block in Kokrajhar district and assessed the damages of river embankments.
He was accompanied by UPPL leaders from Kokrajhar district including youth wing during the visit.
The overflowing of Saralbhanga river has breached embankments and has caused erosion at several places under Dotma development block in Kokrajhar district.
Boro has directed officials to begin immediate repair works from tonight to check and control the flood situation in the region.
He said that the BTR government has prepared necessary strategies for protection from flash floods across the region and government officials as well public representatives are looking after the ongoing flood situation. He also informed that the BTR government and state government are jointly monitoring the flood situation and distributing relief materials at various relief camps.
Earlier, BTR CEM Boro visited the flood affected areas in Tamulpur district, Udalguri district and took stock about the prevailing flood situation.
