Food Fair draws crowds at Kokrajhar Girls’ College

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 7: An Indigenous Community Food Fair and Exhibition was held at Kokrajhar Girls’ College on Saturday, coinciding with the conclusion of the 37th College Week festival.

Organised by the Student Body, the four-day festival featured students from nine departments showcasing traditional dishes from Bodo, Assamese, Garo, Adivasi, Rabha, Bengali and Gorkha communities. Highlights included Bodo pork and dried pork, silkworm larvae, snails, shukuti, Maibra Bidai, Assamese pitha, Garo steamed pork, sweets and roti.

The festival, titled “Gambari”, attracted enthusiastic responses from faculty, students and visitors alike, celebrating traditional foods and local culinary heritage.
