Foundation day of Agnigarh Natghar observed

BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 28: 
The 9th foundation day of Agnigarh Natghar, a leading socio-cultural and spiritual organisation of the greater Nagsankar area was held at Khanaguri Namghar premises with Lochan Bora, president of the organisation in the chair with a day-long programme.
Earlier to this, the institutional flag was hoisted by the president in the morning. The open session began with a Borgeet performed by Udai Shankar Saikia. Pallab Hazarika, secretary of the organisation, explained the objectives that followed a welcome address offered by Ayush Hazarika.
In between the programme, Violina Hazarika and Puja Kalita, two meritorious students who shone in the recently declared HSCL examination from the area were felicitated by the organisers with a gamosa and a packet of books. The organising committee also felicitated Bharat Saikia, retired headmaster of Chengamari HS and Gunaram Gayan, eminent Shankari artiste for their contribution with a citation, japi, xorai, gamosa and a packet of books.
Ripunjay Bordoloi, science teacher of Chengamari HS and a science writer graced the occasion as an appointed speaker. He delivered his lecture on ‘Science and Philosophy in the literary creations of Sankardeva and its impact on Children’.
The event was also attended by Bhaba Saikia, president of Sootea Nagarik Samaj, Bibek Duwora, retired teacher, Anjan Baskota, journalist as guests of honour. Sarat Kumar Mahanta offered the vote of thanks while Pallab Hazarika conducted the proceedings. A series of cultural activities were performed in between the programmes.
