DIPHU, Oct 17: After complaints of frequent thefts by the superintendent of Diphu Medical College & Hospital (DMCH), the police have succeeded in arresting four thieves, including one from the DMCH campus itself.
The police questioned a man upon suspicion, and during his interrogation it was found that he along with three others were stealing in the DMCH. Accordingly, the three others were arrested from Diphu town.
The arrested are Md Manash Ali (27), son of Md Muslem Ali of Moirabari Telighat, Moirabari police station, district Morigaon; Md Anuwarul Houqe (18), son of Lt Nur Ahmed, resident of Harilal Basti, Diphu under Diphu police station; Md Jakir Hussain (27), son of Md Rubul Amin, resident of Rongnihang Pathar, Diphu, Karbi Anglong under Diphu police station and Md Rajib Ali (20), son of Md Amjad Ali, resident of Dharamnala, Diphu under Diphu police station in Karbi Anglong.
Four bundles of electric copper wire, 1 cylindrical bronze pipe cut from both ends which is used in oxygen transmission, a screwdriver, 1 iron cutter and a black plastic bag to carry the stolen goods were recovered from them.
Diphu PS Case No 85/22 U/S 379/34 IPC has been registered in the matter and further investigation is on.
